Hi all!
I’m a bit late with this wrap up — well actually, two wrap ups! — but I guess better late than never!
From April to May, I worked full time, which is why I read so little in April, but improved in May. I didn’t read as much (especially in April) which was a bit disappointing for me, but I did watch some great movies and other stuff. But basically, I only really had enough energy to come home after work, make dinner, watch some TV and then crash. Feeling a bit better this month, and in July I have some time off which I’m really, really, really looking forward to!

Books read

Read in April: 1 book, 1 short story
Read in May: 4 books, 1 audiobook
Book of the month(s)

This was really hard to choose because all of the books I read over April and May were 5 stars, but if I had to pick an absolute favourite, it would be Fence: Disarmed. This book is just so cute and fun — I couldn’t put it down at all. It’s the second book in the Fence novel series, based on the Fence comics, and follows Nicholas as he and his friends go to France for a fencing training camp. While they’re there, romances and friendships develop and fears and plans come to light. I cannot wait for the next instalment in this series!

Non-bookish stuff

From April to May, I watched a whole bunch of movies including: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Venom, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Happiest Season, and Marie Antoinette.
My sister and I watched Captain America 2 & 3 in a day because we had come off of bingeing The Falcon and the Winter Soldier which was amazing! The show did such a good job of giving Sam (Falcon) his origin story for his new superhero title, and I can’t wait to see him in the new movies as Captain America!
Venom was a bit weird but enjoyable, and I had so much fun rewatching The Lord of the Rings! I caught up with some friends and we ate burgers and watched the movie — and then I fell asleep for the last 20 minutes 😅.
Speaking of rewatching, I also rewatched Gravity Falls (one of my favourite TV shows) and Marie Antoinette, which is an even better movie than I remember it being.

Looking forward: June
Let’s pretend it’s not already 12 days into June.
