Hi all!
For years, I have been adamant that I hate science fiction novels. I just could never get into them, no matter how intriguing I find space and aliens, and all the classic scifi tropes. I probably dislike the genre so much because there’s so much action involved and I really dislike action scenes in books: they’re so long and arduous, and I am exhausted while reading it.
So when I read and loved a scifi book earlier this year (Winter’s Orbit by Everina Maxwell), no one was more surprised than me! But then I realised that the book was queer, and as someone who primarily reads queer novels, this in itself isn’t too out of the ordinary.
That’s when I realised: I do actually like scifi books! I just prefer them when they’re queer! As I enjoy every genre 100% more when the characters are queer 😅.
So I’ve been on a quest of sorts since I read Winter’s Orbit to find more queer scifi books that I think I’ll love. And here’s my list of those books! If you have any other recommendations for me, please comment below.
