Well … it’s already time for my quarterly reading goals check in! How 2021 was flown by already. We’ve already celebrated Easter, ffs! Here‘s a list of my reading goals for 2021.
Anyway, I do enjoy putting together these check-ins. This is from January to March. So here we go!
Read 100 books
I have read 45 books from January to March! That’s amazing, to be honest! For comparison, last year from January to March, I read 34 books — so this year, I’ve read 11 more books. That definitely has something to do with the fact that in February, I read a book a day. So, I’m definitely on my way to completing this goal.
Here are all the books I’ve read:
Read backlist books from authors I love
I’ve read 13 backlist books from authors I love! That’s 28% of the books I’ve read this year.
Finish series you’ve been meaning to read for ages
I’ve completed 6 series so far this year! They are:
- Alexander the Great trilogy by Mary Renault
- Claimings series by Lyn Gala
- The Singing Hills Cycle by Nghi Vo
- Days Without End series by Sebastian Barry
- Prosperity series by Alexis Hall
- A Charm of Magpies series by KJ Charles
And I’ve caught up on 3 series — which means the rest of the series is still to be published and I’ve read only what’s available so far. They are:
- Game Changers series by Rachel Reid
- Feminine Pursuits series by Olivia Waite
- Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire
Read at least one classic a month
LMAOOOOOOO. I have not read a single classic book this year. This is a goal I am super failing at and I’m going to make it my mission to catch up on this goal, especially because I am part of the Classics Book Club.
Read books I’m only genuinely interested in
I’ve definitely stuck to this goal, making sure that I only read books I’m really interested in. That’s because in the past I’ve gotten caught up in Book Twitter and all the popular books that make waves there — when I read them, I find that I didn’t actually like those books but only read them because they’re considered “popular”.
My own readathon
I’ve been doing really well at mine and my friend’s readathon! I’ve read each book for Jan, Feb and Mar, but still need to catch up on reading the year-long book, Anna Karenina.
Popsugar 2021 Reading Challenge
I’ve read 24 books for the Popsugar Challenge so far! All the books in read are ones I’m planning on read for that prompt. Hoping to continue doing this well for the rest of the year.
