February Wrap Up: The (Birthday) Month I Read a Book a Day

Hi all!

Well, another month has come and gone and I just want to say … how?? How is it now March and we have officially lived with this virus for one year? A bit frightening, but with the slow rollout of the vaccine, here’s hoping it gets a bit better soon.

I had a pretty good February! It was my birthday month, and despite the fact that we had to go into a five day lockdown on my actual birthday, I did end up celebrating it later with my family and friends and I got some great presents too! I’ll be sharing my birthday haul in a seperate post soon!

Additionally, this month I set myself the secret goal of reading 28 books in 28 days (all of February) and I managed it! Why did I set this goal, you ask? I don’t know. It was an accident, to be honest. I read four books within the first four days of February and I wondered if I could keep this momentum going for the entire month. And I did! Yay 💪🏼

Also! Very proud of how many series I managed to finish / catch up on this month, which is something I’ve always struggled to do (no matter how much I love reading series).

Books read

28 reads: 15 books, 8 audiobooks, 2 short stories, 2 graphic novels, 1 novella

Book of the month

The first book I read this month ended up being my absolute favourite! It’s a m/m romance about two hockey rivals who have hated each other since their rookie years, and who have — secretly — also been hooking up for years. The book’s plot is quite slow and not much happens, just because the entire book is focused on the development of Ilya and Shane’s relationship. It follows their relationship chronologically, from meeting during their rookie years, to their first hookup, and to many hookups afterwards until very slowly they begin to fall in love and have to figure out a way to be together.

It’s a fantastic novel with so much romance and feelings and humour as well! I really, really highly recommend it, especially if you’re a romance book lover.

WandaVision (TV Mini-Series 2021) - IMDb

This month, I watched the first movie in the Scream series, which is one of my favourite movies. I was definitely in a very re-watch mood this month, because then I also watched the last two Avengers movies!

This was because I started watching WandaVision which is freaking incredible! I’m enjoying this show so damn month, and I can’t wait for the last episode. I’m worried it’s going to end on a cliffhanger because every single episode has already and there’s so much more they need to explain!
