Book series I plan to finish this year

Hi all!

So I’m someone who loves reading book series because I fall so completely in love with the characters, that I want to continue following them on their journey. But I have a big problem in being super slack in finishing the damn series. So this year, I’ve made it my mission to finish multiple series that I already started OR catch up on a series if all the books aren’t published yet.

So let’s see which books I need to get to!

• The Burning God: This finale to The Poppy War trilogy came out last year in November, and I’ve been too scared to read it. I know The Burning God is going to rip my heart out and I’m not ready. But at some point I need to be because I definitely want to finish this series this year.
• Iron Heart: This is the last book in the Crier’s War duology and I adored the first book so much, I can’t wait to read this conclusion!
• Girls of Fate and Fury: I feel like we’ve been waiting for the final book in the Girls of Paper and Fire trilogy for years — and that’s because we have. The second book came out in 2019 and this one’s not coming out until November this year! But I’m so excited for it.
• Subtle Blood: This is the last book in the Will Darling series, which was supposed to come out late last year, but the author had to push it back to 2021. So I’m extremely excited to see how this one ends!

• Casket of Souls & Shards of Time: I NEED to read the last two books in the Nightrunner series! I read the first book back in 2018 and three years later, I have still to complete the series. Oops.
• As the Shadow Rises & Into the Dying Light: I read the first book in the Age of Darkness series and loved it! Seriously, that book was plot twist galore. So keen to read the remaining two books in the series, the last of which is coming out this year!

• Harrow the Ninth: I’ve been meaning to read this book since it came out in August last year and just haven’t gotten around to it 😅. Definitely want to this year!
• Oaths of Legacy: I just read the first book in the Bloodright series, Bonds of Brass, the other day and ADORED IT! So I desperately need to read this sequel because the book ended on such a cliff-hanger!
• The Thousand Eyes: The Unspoken Name, the first book in The Serpent Gates series, came out in February 2020 (but I read it in 2019 because I got an ARC), so I think it’s safe to say I’ve been waiting way too long to read this sequel! I need it ASAP.

• Flash Fire: I loved the first book in this series, The Extraordinaries. It made me laugh and cry and gasp because I guessed the plot twists! Here’s hoping I get an ARC of this book.
• Across the Green Grass Fields: The Wayward Children series is a pretty fun series. I don’t like all of the books but they’re super fascinating and I can’t put them down. This is the 6th book in the series about a character I’m invested in, so I need to get to this book as soon as possible as it’s already out!
• Mister Impossible: I can’t get over how terrible the title of this book is, but I am pretty keen for the sequel to the Dreamers series.
