Last year, I created a post where I shared a whole bunch of statistics of my reading for 2019, based on things I thought were interesting. I decided to do it again because it was pretty cool seeing my reading spread out in charts like that, where I could track things more clearly.
So here we go again!
Total number of books read
Books read each month
As you can see, my best reading months were April and July with 16 books read! My worst was December (lol) with only 6 books read. Ah, well.
I’m pretty happy with this! A majority of the books I read, I rated 5 stars and then the next highest is 4 stars. I did read some average books and then some bad books, but not very many thankfully.
Here’s all the books I rated 5 stars:
Average star rating
Average page count per day
126 pages per day
SHORTEST BOOK READ & LONGEST BOOK READ
Not at all surprised that I read so many fantasy books to be honest, it’s my favourite genre. But I am surprised at how low the other genres are especially contemporary and historical, which I tend to also read a lot of. Also only 9.2% romance? I thought it would be way higher, but I guess I read a lot of books with romance where it’s just not the main genre — like romantic fantasy or something like that.
16 out of 131
That’s 12% of my reading all year!
Types of books
Definitely happy at how many books I’ve been borrowing from the library! 💪🏼
Oh, wow! 33% of my reading in 2020 was through audiobooks! I’m a bit surprised at that and also not at all, because last year was Horrible and audiobooks were how I got through it. But still 33% is a lot!
Authors new to me
Wow, almost half of the authors I read from last year were new to me! Talk about brooding my reading tastes haha.
Authors I read the most from
- TJ Klune: 8 books
- Seanan McGuire: 5 books
- Cassandra Clare: 4 books
- Lynn Flewelling: 3 books
- Cat Sebastian: 3 books
Gender of authors
I definitely need to start reading more books from nonbinary people! Maybe I should make that a goal for this year.
