Nine Month Reading Goals Check-in (July to September)

Hi all!

Good lord, it’s October? *Looks around nervously* Since when?

I genuinely can’t believe I’m sharing my nine month reading goal check-in already because it still feels like it’s April right now 😅.

This reading goal update is from July to September. Check out my three month check-in, and six month check-in!

So let’s see how I did during these last three months!

Reading Goals

Read 52 books

I already completed this goal during my six month check-in, but between July to September, I read 36 books:

Read backlist books from authors I love

Ooh, I just completed this goal during these three months! During the six month check-in, 50% of my reading was backlist books and now it’s only 39.6%. So it’s gone down quite a bit. That’s because I read a lot of 2020 releases recently.

Borrow more from the library

Not as good as last time! I’ve definitely been buying more books than I ever have, and I chalk that up to being in lockdown too long haha.

2020 anticipated releases

Not going too bad at reading my anticipated releases! A lot of the books I still need to read aren’t published yet, but for the ones that are, I still need to read 9 more 😅. Oof, we’ll see how I go for the last quarter of the year.

More stats

Genre

Wow, this is surprising! Usually my genres stick pretty solidly around fantasy, contemporary and historical fiction, but these past couple of months, I read from so many genres!

Ratings

Pretty good! I didn’t rate a book below 3 to 3.5 stars, and even then it was just two books.

Reading challenges

My own readathon

Oops, I haven’t been that great at keeping up with my own readathon! I’ve read all from January to July, but still haven’t read the books for August or September, but I definitely will be this month!

I’m also a bit behind on my reading schedule for Les Miserables. By the beginning of October, I should have been up to 900 pages by now, but I’m only up to 606. So a couple of hundred pages behind where I’m supposed to be.

Popsugar 2020 Reading Challenge

This is the one reading challenge I’m kicking ass on! I only have 1 book left to read and then I’ve completed the Popsugar 2020 Reading Challenge! The last prompt I need to read for is “read a book about a book club”. And I’ll be getting to that soon.

Read a series or two

Hey, I’m actually doing pretty well with this challenge! From July to September, I finished 5 series! One was a reread of a series, and the rest were the last books in a series I’ve been meaning to finish for a while.

#STARTONYOURSHELFATHON CHALLENGE

Out of the 31 books on my physical TBR for this challenge, I have read 4 during the past three months! That’s pretty good, considering last check-in I only read one. Those books are:

I also included a couple more ebooks. Even though they’re not on my official TBR, I still bought them this year and read them, so they count.

Classics Club

I read two books on my classics club TBR! Not too bad, but I want to do better for the last three months of the year now.

How are you going with your own reading goals? What books have you read? What are your bookish goals? Are you participating in any of the same challenges are me? Let me know!

You’re killing it! I’ll admit, I’ve lost a bit of steam with my own yearly challenges. Even though reading wise I have been doing really well. But I am super keen to dive into Clear Your Sh*t readathon in November. Happy reading!
