Never Have I Ever… read a later book in a series before reading the first book

The only time I’ve ever done this is if a later book in the series was unrelated to the first and didn’t have the same characters. Usually, this is done in romance series where the first book follows one couple, the second follows a different one, and so on and so forth.
Never have I ever … burned a book
Um… what? Physically burned a book? Definitely not, I’m not made of money.
Never Have I Ever… read a book I knew I would hate
I’ve done this a couple of times before but only because they were books by Sarah J. Maas and they were part of a series, so I just wanted to finish the series. Although it kind of worked out in the end, because I didn’t necessarily hate some of the books I read, but I also didn’t enjoy them that much.
Never Have I Ever … written a fan fiction about my favourite books
Nope, never! I occasionally read fan fiction but only if it’s canon and follows the books correctly. I can’t stand AU’s or fan fiction that makes different characters get together.
Never Have I Ever … loved a book when I was young, yet hated it when I got older
Hmm, I’m not completely sure about this because I haven’t reread a book I loved as a child! I plan to at some point, so I’ll have to wait until then to see.
Never Have I Ever … dressed up as one of my favourite literary characters
I’ve done this a couple of times for Comic Con or for one of the premieres of Harry Potter! I’ve dressed as Daenerys Targaryen and Bellatrix Lestrange. I will not be including a photo.
Never Have I Ever … hated a book by an author I love
I’m not the biggest fan of Maggie Stiefvater as a person (I don’t know why she rubs me the wrong way) but I have enjoyed her books in the past, but I really hated The Raven King. Absolutely ruined The Raven Cycle series for me. What a terrible series finale.
Never Have I Ever … gone into a bookstore to buy one book and come out with many more
Haha, I’ve definitely done this in the past! Not too frequently though, as I’m very specific about the books I spend money on.
Never Have I Ever … read the ending of a book before reading the beginning
I used to do this all the time! Usually when it’s a book that’s part of a series, because I just want to make sure all my favourites reach the end without dying.
Never Have I Ever … read a book without the dust cover
I always read hardcovers without the dust cover. If I don’t take the dust cover off, it will get damaged as it slips when I’m trying to read, or gets damaged in my handbag.
Never Have I Ever … skim read nearly half a book
The ONLY book I’ve ever partially skim read was It by Stephen King. And that’s only because that book was so boring and unnecessarily long. Half the book could have been cut out and would have had the same impact. I especially hated the scenes where a minor character that was just introduced gets 20 pages dedicated to his life story … and then dies. That happened many, many times and was so unnecessary.
Never have I ever … Bought an entire series without reading it first

This is my addition to this book tag! I have done this once before, but only once and I was like 15. I accidentally bought book 2 in the Vampire Academy series (when only the first three books were out) so I went back and bought book 1 and thought I might as well buy book 3 too. Thankfully, I ended up really loving the books!

I tag:
As I wasn’t tagged myself, I tag anyone who wants to do this tag!

Omg Maggie Stiefvater rubs me the wrong way as well and I honestly have no idea why. I am completely turned off reading her books because I just really don’t like her, but I have heard that that series didn’t end well by alot of people so I am quite happy I stuck away from it in the end. Considering both It movies (mostly the 2nd one) had long boring bits I am not surprised you had to skim read some of the book. Great answers lovely! I think I am going to do this one 🙂

Yeah I’m not sure what it is about her that just annoys me! I’m only going to be reading the rest of her Dreamer series (spin off from Raven Cycle) and that’s it. Yeah her Raven Cycle ended so shitty, I’m still mad about it !
Thank you lovely 💕
