I hope everyone is doing well during these turbulent times. Today, I’ll be taking part in the WWW meme!
WWW Wednesday is a book meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. Basically, this tag involves answering the following questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you plan on reading next?
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I’m currently reading The Lies of Locke Lamora which I’m enjoying so much! It’s a heavy fantasy book with a criminal cast and that’s my favourite thing ever! I really like Locke and I’m loving his friendship with Jean, it’s so sweet.
I’m also reading City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare as part of my reread of The Mortal Instruments with my friend Beth! I adore this series so much and I’m feeling super emotional reading about my favourite characters.
WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH?
I just finished the first book in The Mortal Instruments series as part of my reread. Suffice to say, I loved it and I’ve missed these characters so much. 5 stars
I was also lucky enough to receive an ARC of The Memory of Souls by Jenn Lyons, which is the third book of the Chorus of Dragons series which I adore. I gave the first two books 5 stars and obviously gave this one 5 stars too! So far, this is my favourite in the series as well, with Kihrin, Teraeth and Janel slowly realising their feelings for all of them. 5 stars
Sapphicathon also started this week so I read two f/f books, and plan to read more! I read the graphic novel Heavy Vinyl which was really cute! It’s about a group of women who work at a record store who secretly fight crime and the patriarchy.
Then I finished The Mercies which I adored. Gosh, this book was so intense and amazing, I was literally on the edge of my seat. It’s about an island in Norway in the 1600s where a massive storm during a fishing trip kills all the men of the island. So the women who remain have to fend for themselves, but a few years later, a commissioner is appointed to the island and starts monitoring the women, but he brings his wife along with him who starts a friendship with one of the island women. 4.5 stars
WHAT DO YOU PLAN ON READING NEXT?
I need to get reading for Sapphicathon and Asian readathon, so this week I need to focus on those books on my TBR!
Sisters of the Black is about nuns in space, I Married My Best Friend to Shut My Parents Up is pretty self-explanatory, and Before the Coffee Gets Cold is about a coffee store that allows people to travel through time.
