Hi all!
I hope everyone is doing well during these turbulent times. Today, I’ll be taking part in the WWW meme!
WWW Wednesday is a book meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. Basically, this tag involves answering the following questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you plan on reading next?
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I’m currently read City of Bones and The Memory of Souls and loving both! City fo Bones is a reread so I already know I love it, but The Memory of Souls is KILLING ME! I loved the first two books in the series but this third one is already 10x better! The book isn’t out until August so there’s plenty of time for you all to read the other novels!
WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH?
Steel Crow Saga was fantastic! The book is an Asian-inspired fantasy about a princess who is 28th in line to the throne and wants it desperately. So she hires a thief who is moments away from the gallows to help her kidnap a prince from an enemy nation on his way home to take up his own throne. There’s a sapphic romance in this which is PHENOMENAL! Seriously, I’m not kidding when I say I think I found my new favourite ship: Xiulan and Lee are amazing 😭. 5 stars.
Chain of Gold is the first book in Cassandra Clare’s new Shadowhunter series and I quite liked it! I didn’t enjoy it as much as The Mortal Instruments (but I don’t think anything can top that series) but it was still fun. I love Cordelia, Lucie, Thomas and Alistair and I’m really hoping Thomas and Alistair get together in the next book, despite how the first one ended 😭. 4 stars.
The City We Became was phenomenal! N.K. Jemisin is a great writer and she really outdid herself here. The book is about cities coming to life and New York is on the verge of being born, but a creature from another universe is trying to kill it before it can be, so the city puts itself in five different people to survive. 5 stars.
WHAT DO YOU PLAN ON READING NEXT?
I can’t wait to get to these books! I’ve only read one book for Asian Readathon so far, because I’m buddy reading two at the moment! But I’m going to get to these three books ASAP!
The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System is about a villain who is reborn as a main character in a book … I think, the blurb is very confusing.
Before the Coffee Gets Cold is about a tiny coffee store in Japan that helps people go back in time but they have to be back before the coffee gets cold.
Empire of Sand is about an illegitimate daughter who has magical powers that catch the attention of the emperor’s mystics, who then has to try and stay alive and resist their agenda.
I finished reading Angry God by LJ Shen and now I’m reading Parental Guidance by Avery Flynn.

Love me some City of Bones ❤ Steel Crow Saga and The City We Became sound amazing! I really liked Chain of Gold too, though I agree, not as much as the TMI or TID series. I want Alistair and Thomas to have a thing too haha. And I want more Cordelia and Lucie fighting side by side!
