WWW Wednesday

Hi all!

WWW Wednesday is a book meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. I haven’t partaken in this meme before but it always looks like so much fun so I’m going to give it a go. Basically, you answer the following questions:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you plan on reading next?

I’m currently reading Tiān Guān Cì Fú! For those you don’t know, this is a Chinese web novel by MoXiang TongXiu who is also the created of Mo Dao Zu Shi (The Untamed, a show on Netflix.) This is her third novel and its arguably the best so far.

It’s pretty much five books in one, and I’m finally up to the fifth book! I hope to finish it in the next couple of days. And, oh yeah, the book is over 2000 pages long (again, five books in one).

It’s about a god who has ascended three times to godhood (and fallen twice) and his last believer who happens to be a ghost king. It’s phenomenal.

I just finished reading Queen of Coin and Whispers and I was quite disappointed in this! I enjoyed the first half but struggled to differentiate between the two character POVs. And then the ending was way too rushed and I pretty much had no idea what was happening anymore. I still recommend it because the sapphic romance was great, and I know quite a few people enjoyed this, so looks like I’m in the minority.

I’m planning on reading The City We Became next! I’m super excited about this book because I loved Jemisin’s previous series, The Broken Earth, and I’ve heard people say really good things about this book! It’s about cities that come to life, I think? Sign me up!

Have you read any of these books? What are you currently reading, and what do you plan to read next? Let me know!
