5 Star Predictions

Hi all!

I haven’t quite disappeared from this blog but I have been a little absent and that’s just because I’ve been back at work and I’m so tired šŸ˜‘Ā . So I decided to write up a quick post so you guys can remember that I exist!

1. The MidnightĀ Lie by Marie Rutkoski

This book has suddenly gotten very popular over on f/f twitter and I’m so excited to read it. It was already on my TBR but then Silvia rated it 5 stars and now I know I’m going to rate it 5 stars too — we haveĀ veryĀ similar reading tastes.

2. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell byĀ Susanna Clarke

I’ve been adding and then removing this book from my TBR for years now and that’s because I’m really interested in the premise, but then that page count (1006) turns me off. But this year I decided to stop being scared of long books and to embrace them instead, so I am officially adding this back on to my TBR. I also found a free copy of this book at a local little library too, and it’s in perfect condition! Not to mention, Erin Morgenstern rates this as one of her favourite books ever and I adore Erin’s books!

3.å¤©å®˜čµē¦ (Tiān Guān CƬ FĆŗ/Heaven’s Official Blessing) by Moxiang Tongxiu

I recently finished Moxiang Tongxiu’s previous novelĀ Mo Dao Zu ShiĀ (魔道ē„–åøˆ) and loved it! It’s a 1000+ page novel and I read it in eight days because it was so epic and romantic and just plain funny. So I just know I’m going to love this author’s most recent novel, which everyone says is actually her best work!

4. A Conspiracy of Truths by Alexandra Rowland

I’ve had this book on my TBR for a little while now and I can just tell I’m going to love it. It’s been referred to as a “quiet fantasy” novel and those are my favourite types.

5. Credence by Penelope DouglasĀ

Don’t judge me, haha! But I love dark romances and I have a feeling this book is just going to be so weird and horrible, but I will love it.

6. Three Women byĀ Lisa TaddeoĀ

This is a non-fiction novel about three very different women who have three very different experiences with sex. I don’t know much more than that, but I’ve heard good things about this book that make me think I’ll love it too.

7.Ā TheĀ Ragged Blade by Christopher Ruz

This book is about a man and his daughter on the run from his husband who is a powerful evil magician. Yes, yes, yes, I just know I’m going to love this!

8. TheĀ Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith

I just know I’m going to rate this book 5 stars because it has a f/f romance and is about book characters that runaway from hell. I’m so excited for it!

9. Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

This book has intrigued me since it came out and I really want to just read it already! I have a feeling I’m going to love it based on what people I trust have said. Fingers crossed!

Jonathan Strange is long, yes, but so worth it! Once you get started, you won’t want to stop reading it. It’s as if Jane Austen and Dickens got together and wrote their version of Harry Potter. It also has really good illustrations and footnotes which I found very funny. I think I need to read it again!
