Books I Want To Reread

Hi all!

So I’ve been in a very nostalgic mood the past few months and I’ve slowly started to reread a bunch of my favourite romance novels. Books I’ve reread include Wolfsong and Ravensong by TJ Klunethe Tales from Verania series by TJ Klune and Captive Prince trilogy by C.S. Pacat. I’ve recently gotten into audiobooks so its very easy for me to reread an entire series … which I’ve done multiple times this year 😅.

However, there are still a bunch of longer books that I am dying to reread. (Maybe I should try and reread as many as possible in September?) Some of these are literary books, some massive fantasy books, some classics, and some YA. Please let me know which ones you think I should prioritise!

I read The Secret History last year in April in the space of four days. I adored this book so much, but I think I read it too fast and didn’t get to really appreciate it. I still consider it a favourite book, but I wish I had taken the time to read it slowly and savour it. Luckily, I bought a new limited edition cover (the image above) and can’t wait to fall in love with these characters again!

I read In Other Lands last year and it became an immediate all-time favourite. I adore Elliot Schafer so freaking much — he’s like a younger version of me 😭. And he and a certain someone are the cutest couple together. I can’t wait to return to this world — I also bought the paperback recently which comes with a short story from Luke’s perspective and I’m so excited to read it!

I only read The Priory of the Orange Tree back in February and would die for all the characters in this book. Ead and Sabran are the most beautiful f/f couple I’ve ever come across, and the fantasy world is phenomenal. Samantha Shannon’s worldbuilding is incredible and I wish she writes a sequel!

I read this book in early August and so quickly it became an all-time favourite. Docile doesn’t come out till March 2020, but trust me when I tell you, you’re going to love it. It features really difficult topics such as dubious consent and the dangers of capitalism and debt. I was a Mess after finishing this book and can’t wait to read it again 😭.

I read The Picture of Dorian Gray when I was 16 or 17 and fell in love with it. Oscar Wilde’s only novel was incredible and crazy and infuriating. Dorian is such a loveable but horrible character and I ship him so hard with Basil. I can’t wait to read it again to see if I still enjoy this book at 25.

I only read The Ruin of Kings in July and I want to reread ASAP! I read this book through a mixture of audiobook and paperback, and I think next time I want to focus on just the paperback. I recently found an ARC of this book at a free library near my work so I now have a copy! Can’t wait to get back to Kihrin’s world with Teraeth and a whole cast of wonderful, violent, low-key insane characters.

I read Pisces Hooks Taurus last year as soon as it came out and adored it immediately! My favourite book in this series is Leo Loves Aries, but this is a strong second. It features a very soft Pisces man who is not that smart and falls in love with his ROOMMATE (omg, they were roommates), who is a professor and super smart. Its so soft and gentle and makes me want to cry! I reread the other books in this series last year and didn’t get a chance to reread this one.

The last time I read this book was back in January when I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of it — and I am desperate to read it again. I see Red, White & Royal Blue on my twitter timeline almost every day and everyone is low-key making me jealous even though I’ve read it 😅. I just love Alex and Henry so freaking much 😭.

I read Over and Over Again last year and it made me read almost all of Cole McCade’s other books because it is So Good! It features a May-December romance and I know that’s not for everyone but I adore those kinds of romances, so this was perfect for me. This book is over 600 pages long which is why I’m putting off reading it again but I really, really want to!

I usually reread Pride and Prejudice at least once a year, but I haven’t had the chance this year yet (or last year)! I’ve been missing Lizzie and Darcy something fierce and just want the chance to get back into this funny and loveable world again. Also — Bingley!

I’m actually really scared to reread this book and go through stages where I don’t want to, but I feel like I should. If you’ve read The Song of Achilles you’ll know why I’m scared of it — because its so heartbreaking. However, I do love the beginning of the book and I have the audiobook which might make it easier to read?

The Strange the Dreamer duology is probably my most favourite duology ever. Laini Taylor is one of the best writers of this generation, her prose is just so beautiful and brings me to tears. I adore all the characters in this book, especially Lazlo and Thyon. I still need to find copies of these books, but I want the original blue cover (pictured) but its no longer in print 😭.

Are you someone who likes rereading books? Or can you only read a book once? What book do you want to reread? Have you read any of my favourite books? Let me know!

I used to read Pride and Prejudice every year too, but haven’t been making time for that since I started book blogging and have become aware of JUST HOW MANY good books there are out there. I miss Lizzy and Darcy too. ❤ I re-read Emma this year, though!

Omg I was totally thinking of doing a post like this soon, so I hope you don’t mind if I do?? I will credit you because you did it first 🙂 SO, I really, really want to reread the Ruin of Kings soon because I FREAKING LOVE KIHRIN. And like, every time him and Teraeth talk I want them to kiss, but then I don’t because I want the slow-burn…ahhh the emotions!!!!

I want to reread the Mortal Instruments again, just because I got the new book set recently and want to break them in. I only reread them in January….but they are my faves so whatever. Oh and I want to reread Captive Prince again. I might reread them in November, because that’s when we did our reread of them last year.

Awesome post my love, and good luck with your rereads!!

So the only book on this list that I’ve read is P&P. Oops.

I hardly ever re-read books because I don’t feel like I have enough time. But lately I’ve been wanting to more and more, especially alongside this need to annotate some of my loved books as well.

Yeah I used to feel the same because I always felt like I had too many books to read so why waste it rereading a book, but last year I started to reread a few favourites because I miss the characters and haven’t stopped rereading since lol! I actually just started annotating but I’m still a bit nervous! I won’t annotate my good copies, just the books I don’t mind that have marks in them lol
