The Book Interview Tag

Hi all!

I haven’t done a book tag in quite a while and I was thinking about doing one, and then the very lovely Destiny @ Howling Libraries tagged me in one! Thank you so much Destiny! Everyone please go check out her awesome blog!

This tag makes me feel like I’m being interviewed by Vogue for their 73 questions 😂. I love it!

Just turned 25 😭

Romance and fantasy! Also, the gayer the better!

TJ Klune, Cole McCade, Rick Riordan, Oscar Wilde, Allen Ginsberg.

FAVOURITE FEMALE AUTHOR(S):

Jane Austen, Cassandra Clare, C.S. Pacat, KJ Charles, Anyta Sunday, Lynn Flewelling, Laini Taylor, Melina Marchetta, Madeline Miller, Nora Sakavic, Marie Lu, Sarah Rees Brennan, Donna Tartt, K. Ancrum, Roshani Chokshi.

FOREVER FAVOURITE(S):

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST BOOK OF 2018?

26032825

HOW DID YOU LIKE IT?

Heck yeah I did! The Cruel Prince was a super hyped book so I was worried I wasn’t going to like it, but I actually loved it! I read the sequel The Wicked King and now I desperately need the final book in the series!

WHAT WAS YOUR LAST BOOK OF 2018?

61049

HOW DID YOU LIKE IT?

Oh yes! Autobiography of Red was a fantastic novel in verse! It’s a retelling of the myth of Geryon, the red-winged monster that Herakles slays. But Anne Carson has retold this story in the form of a romance between Geryon and Herakles — and it’s amazing. It’s very sad but also sweet, and quite empowering. I loved it.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A BOOK/WHAT MAKES IT REALLY STAND OUT?

Number one, diversity! Number two, incredible writing! Number three, amazing world building. Give me that and you’ve got a permanent reader of your work for life!

DO YOU COLLECT ANY PARTICULAR SETS/EDITIONS OF BOOKS?

Yep! I collect Pride and Prejudice! I currently have 25 copies!

DO YOU PREFER EBOOKS, AUDIOBOOKS, OR PHYSICAL (HARDBACK OR PAPERBACK)?

Ooh, this is a hard question. I absolutely love physical books but I’ve stopped myself from buying too many because they’re expensive. I tend to borrow a lot from the library. But I do buy a lot of eBooks because I have a Kindle and I read them non-stop! So I’d have to say eBooks! I do like audiobooks but I’m a much faster reader and even listening on 2x speed, I can finish a book faster by reading than by listening.

DO YOU KEEP BOOKS YOU DIDN’T LIKE, OR GET RID OF THEM?

I get rid of them! I actually don’t buy as many books as I used to (now I buy books from authors I love or that odd book I know I’ll really enjoy), but I did buy heaps when I was younger and I have like boxes full of books I don’t want. I’ve been slowly donating them, because life’s too short to have your bookshelves full of books you hate!

WHAT LITERARY CHARACTER BEST DEFINES YOU/DO YOU BEST RELATE TO?

ELIZABETH BENNET!! Y’ALL ALREADY KNOW THIS! SHE IS THE LIGHT OF MY LIFE.
