Hi all!
It’s time for another post in the ABC Book Challenge series, one coming out each week for 26 weeks! I originally saw this post over on Jacquie @ Rattle the Stars‘ blog — please go check out Jacquie’s incredible blog!
MEMORABLE TITLES THAT START WITH “W”
What Happened is Hillary Clinton’s version of what exactly happened during the 2016 American presidential election, and it’s a very powerful novel. She not only talks about Trump, the Russian influence and the FBI, but also discusses what its like being a woman in politics and her reputation throughout her career. Wolfsong is an amazing m/m novel about werewolves — it’s a romance where basically every character is queer and I highly recommend it! Widdershins is the first book in the Whyborne and Griffon series that I binged last year, and it’s a little gem of a series, featuring a lovely m/m romance and paranormal shin-dings. When the Moon Was Ours is a gorgeous magical realism novel about a trans boy and a mysterious girl, and some weird witchy sisters — definitely recommend this one, because the writing is so beautiful.
Wanted, A Gentleman is an adorable m/m historical romance between two men who are attempting to rescue a young woman who is about to elope with a man who wants to steal her fortune. It’s tender and lovely and I want everyone to read all of KJ Charles’ books! The Wicker King is a strange, alluring novel about mental illness, friendship and romance — and what one boy will do for his best friend. Definitely memorable. Words in Deep Blue is an Australian novel about grief, ex-best friends and finding your way — it’s sad and lovely and I cried a lot reading it. Why Not Me is a collection of essays by Mindy Kaling, and there’s one essay in there that is so amazing, I cried from happiness.
BOOKS STARTING WITH “W” ON MY TBR
Wanna Bet? is the second book in the Dirty British Romance series and I adored the first one, so I know I’ll love this too! Wayward Son looks like it will be the sequel to Carry On coming out sometime this year! Super keen for it! I got Wolf Hall for Christmas a few years back and still haven’t read it, although I know I’ll love it because it’s about Thomas Cromwell, an advisor to Henry VIII. Walk on Earth a Stranger is a Western historical YA book about the gold rush, and hell yeah! I need to find time to actually read it!
What Happened was a great book! And, I love Wolf Hall. I really need to reread it.

I loved What Happened. It’s a great look into the 2016 election, but she also discusses some other events in her life — it’s great.
