Hi all!
Its time for SapphicAThon Round 2! I’m so freaking excited and have been waiting for Natasha, Jamison and Elise to announce round 2 for ages! Round 2 goes from Feb 1-7, your time.
Please check out the amazing blogs these girls have, and join us in on the fun! And here’s the official Twitter group — make sure you follow!
I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to read every book I have planned as it’s only a week long, but I’m definitely going to try my hardest and will definitely read these books at some point anyway.
My TBR
Read the group book:
I’m so excited that for this round there’ll be a group book! I love buddy reading and I’m super excited for the book that has been chosen: Once Ghosted, Twice Shy.
I haven’t read a novel by Alyssa Cole yet, but I’ve always planned to, and I’m so happy my first will be a sapphic book!
Read a book with a trope you love:
If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you’ll know that enemies to lovers is my favourite trope ever. Like, I even wrote a whole post about why it’s the superior romance trope. So I’m obviously going to be reading a f/f book with my favourite trope, and I’ve chosen The Story of Lizzy and Darcy.
Pride and Prejudice is my favourite novel of all time and when I found this f/f retelling of it, I knew I had to read it!
Read a book where the main character is a person of colour:
I desperately wanted to read Soft on Soft last year, but for whatever reason I never found the time! But I’m determined to read it this year, and seeing as SapphicAThon has come up, this is a great time!
Soft of Soft is about two girls falling in love, softly and sweetly, and is also super queer, with fat rep, POC rep, and pan and anxiety rep.
Read a book with a cover you love:
I absolutely adore the cover of In the Vanisher’s Palace — seriously, look at it! And not to mention, the blurb is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before!
It’s an f/f Vietnamese-inspired retelling of Beauty and the Beast! It’s about a young woman named Yên who is sold to one of the last dragons left, expecting to die. But instead she works as a scholar and tutor’s the dragon, Vu Côn’s, children, and soon she finds herself falling for the dragon.
Read a book that fulfils your favourite prompt from the last SapphicAThon:
My favourite prompt from the first SapphicAThon was the Bisexual MC challenge, as I’m bi myself. Initially, I wasn’t that interested in Reign of the Fallen until many bookish friends starting loving it, and then I actually read the blurb properly and basically fell in love with the premise.
Apparently, Reign of the Fallen is also very beautifully and unapologetically bisexual and I’m already living for that. So keen for this book!
Read a book that doesn’t focus on romance:
The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet has been on my TBR for so freaking long, I thought it was about time I read it!
While the book does have an f/f romance, it certainly doesn’t focus on it as the book is set in outer space, and follows a rag-tag group of space explorers just trying to survive in space.
Read a book that one of the hosts have read:
I’ve seen Elise raving about Into the Drowning Deep all over Goodreads and I actually started it last year, but had to put it on hold. I can tell I’m going to really like this book but I wasn’t in a paranormal mood when I started it, and I didn’t want my mood to ruin the book for me if I persevered through it.
But I want to give it a try again, especially since Silvia recently read it and loved it so much!
Good luck with the readathon Laura! I’ve read three of these (drowning deep, once ghosted, and reign of the fallen) and I really liked all of them!

I loved Into the Drowning Deep and In the Vanisher’s Palace! They were some of my favorite books of last year. I hope you like them too!
I’m joining this round too, and while I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to read, I hope to get to Once Ghosted, Twice Shy. It looks so cute.
Good luck with the readathon!

Oh yay! I’m so glad you loved them — I hope I do too!
Yeah I’m the same, I’m hoping I can read as many of these books but I’ve become a bit of a slow reader recently 😅
Good luck to you too!!

Yes there is!! I know, why did no one tell us sooner? There’s also another queer retelling of P&P called Gay Pride and Prejudice and in it, everyone’s queer — including Mr Darcy! And I’m pretty sure Elizabeth and Caroline get together, which I’ve been shipping for years!
you’re welcome 😘

wow, I can’t believe there’s ANOTHER gay retelling that I hadn’t heard of :O but I’m more excited for Lizzy and Darcy since I’m all about the gay ladies 😀 don’t get me wrong, I enjoy guys getting together as well, but f/f is my jam! I am intrigued by your mention of Elizabeth/Caroline in the other one, though…but it seems to be more of an ensemble book from my quick perusal on GR.
