November Wrap Up: The Month I Went to America

Hi all!

November is over in the blink of an eye! I can’t believe it! I just got back from my 2-week holiday in the US, which is why my wrap-up is a little late! I’m sorry I haven’t been around as much this month, I’ve been away since the 20th and all of my posts since then have been scheduled because I didn’t want you guys to forget about me!

I’ll be writing up four blog posts about my trip: three travel posts about the three cities I visited and a book haul post about all the books I bought overseas. Spoiler alert: there’s 20! Haha

18829666Black Iris is an incredible novel about girls fighting back against rapists, sexual abusers, and men in general, pretty much. It’s a fantastic book and it’s made me want to read all of Elliot Wake’s other books.

33590260Kingdom of Ash is a great finale to a complicated series. I loved every moment of this novel and am kind of upset we won’t get any more from this world. I had so much fun reading this book, it only took me two days to read it — and it’s almost 1000 pages long.

32993458Circe is such a beautiful novel. I was in awe of how stunning every bit of this book, but the writing is, without a doubt, the strongest part of the book. Circe is a powerful character. I want Madeline Miller to continue writing about Ancient Greek myths forever.

Book of the Month

33590260

No one is more surprised than me that I absolutely loved this novel. Every part of this book was incredible, from the characters to the plot to the writing (most of the time). My favourite couple is Elide and Lorcan and I was living for every single one of their interactions. I’m still a little bit annoyed that we never got a proper sex scene from them, but I also kind of get it? Anyway, I loved Aelin and how far she’s come. She’s a real queen in this novel — finally — and I’m so proud of her for how far she’s come.

MONTHLY DISAPPOINTMENT

Nothing! Every book I read this month was great!

IF YOU LIKE THAT, TRY THESE … POSTS

If you like that, try these … is my bi-montly post series where I share book (and sometimes movie or TV show) recommendations based on a book I’ve read. A new post comes out every second Thursday!

I’ve had to take a little bit of a break for If you like that, try these … because I was overseas and these posts take a lot of time to create. A new post will be up mid-December!

But to check out my If you like that, try these posts (I only did one this month!) click on the title below!

BOOK TAGS

I’m currently completing The ABC book challenge! This is a weekly tag where bloggers share memorable titles starting with a letter of the alphabet, as well as books on their TBR also starting with that letter.

A post of this series comes out every Tuesday!

Check out my posts for November:

Q, R, S, T

This month, I did the Finally Fall book tag to send me off to America! I have so many “aesthetic” images of America in the Fall from movies I’ve watched, and even though I only experienced like 10 days of American Fall, it’s still pretty. Click on the image below!

I absolutely love Buzzfeed Unsolved and when I found out there’s a book tag about it, I jumped on the chance to complete this tag! Click on the image below to see my answers and who I tagged!

EXTRA CONTENT

This month, I set myself a proper TBR because I had finished uni! My TBR is super structured and I wish I had the chance to read more of these books but I didn’t because I was working heaps and I went overseas, but this will continue to be my TBR for December. Check it out by clicking on the image below!

I also wrote up a post about my most anticipated 2019 book releases! This list has YA and adult novels, plus a whole bunch of queer — mainly sapphic! — releases! Check it out!

NON-BOOKISH STUFF

For the last two weeks of November, I was in America! Again, I’m going to be writing four posts about my trip to America: three travel posts and one book haul of all the books I bought while I was there, but I will say I had an incredible time! I wish I was still there!

This month I watched Incredibles 2 finally! I meant to watch it when it first came out, but I never got the chance. I absolutely loved this movie, it was so cute! I also watched Trevor Noah: Son of Patricia, Trevor Noah’s Netflix comedy special. A lot of his performance was the same as his live performance in Australia, which I was lucky enough to attend in August or September. But I still enjoyed it!

I wish I watched more this month or read more, but I was overseas and having the best time!
