Hi all!
It’s time for another post in the ABC Book Challenge series, one coming out each week for 26 weeks! I originally saw this post over on Jacquie @ Rattle the Stars‘ blog — please go check out Jacquie’s incredible blog!
MEMORABLE TITLES THAT START WITH “P”
OBVIOUSLY I WOULD INCLUDE PRIDE AND PREJUDICE BECAUSE IT’S MY FAVOURITE BOOK EVER. I also love Persuasion because it’s genuinely adorable and romantic. Peter Darling is sweet m/m romance between a trans Peter Pan and a queer Captain Hook. I love it so much! The Picture of Dorian Gray is an awesome classics novel about a young man who sells his soul to stay young forever, while his painting ages. It’s so amazing, I adore Oscar Wilde.
Wow, there’s a lot of m/m in this post today. Point of Contact is literally one of the most amazing romances I’ve ever read, but it’s also really sad too. It’s such a slow-burn romance, and it’s also incredibly lovely. ALSO PRINCE’S GAMBIT IS MY FAVOURITE BOOK IN THE CAPTIVE PRINCE SERIES SO OF COURSE IT’S HERE. READ IT!! And then there’s Prisoner which is a pretty awesome m/m historical. If you think Point of Contact and Prince’s Gambit are slow-burns, Prisoner is even slower. Like, they don’t even kiss until the end of the book. It’s still amazing. Pisces Hooks Taurus is the newest instalment in the Signs of Love series and it was the best one so far (on par with my beloved Leo Loves Aries). Read it!
BOOKS STARTING WITH “P” ON MY TBR
The Paying Guests is by Sarah Waters, who’s like the queen of lesbian historical fiction so I’m super excited to read more of her books. I’ve always wanted to read The Phantom of the Opera, even though I haven’t watched the musical yet. I love Hilary Mantel’s books and I’ve always wanted to read A Place of Greater Safety because it’s about the French Revolution from the perspective of the three men who started it: Robespierre, Danton, Desmoulins. And I really want to read The Princess Bride because it’s amazing and hilarious.
Ah I love persuasion and pride and prejudice too! I still need to read princess bride too. Great post!!
