Hi all!
It’s time for another post in the ABC Book Challenge series, one coming out each week for 26 weeks! I originally saw this post over on Jacquie @ Rattle the Stars‘ blog — please go check out Jacquie’s incredible blog!
MEMORABLE TITLES THAT START WITH “J”
Only two memorable titles that start with J this week! I read Jack Maggs for a class at uni and just loved it: it’s inspired by a Dickens novel, and it definitely feels like it: it’s about a British man who was arrested and sent to Australia in the 1800s for his imprisonment, and then returns to England years later. You all know I simply adore Jane Eyre, so no surprises here. Jane Eyre is one of the most incredible Classics novel ever, so I highly recommend you reading it!
BOOKS STARTING WITH “J” ON MY TBR
And only two books on my TBR starting with J! Everyone I know is OBSESSED with Jade City, and honestly, it looks incredible. My local library has it so I can’t wait to read it! I love Shakespeare’s work — although it takes me a while to get into one of his plays — and I love Julius Caesar, so I will eventually read this!
I love, love, LOVE Jane Eyre, it is one of my favourites. I can’t think of any other books that start with a J!! Oh, the only one I can think of is Jessica by Bryce Courteney, which was the first big book I ever read and the first book that made me bawl my eyes out. I love these posts 🙂

Jane Eyre is amazing!! I’ve been wanting to reread it for a while now! I think my mum has read Jessica and really liked it! I’ll look it up, thank you bb 💕

No worries! Though a warning, it makes you angry, sad and there are a few parts where they are extremely boring because Bryce Courteney goes into waaaaay too much detail. But I do think it’s a classic Australian book and overall is a good read 🙂

I have read Jane Eyre and seen two versions (2006 with Ruth Parks & Toby Stephens and 2011 with Mia Wosikowska & Michael Fassbender).
I have read Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey.
I can’t think of any other book title that I have read starting with J!!! I have read A LOT of books in my life.

I was a bit intimidated by Jane Eyre too, but after the first part — when she leaves school to go to Thornfield Hall — it gets incredible and you don’t even realise you’re reading a Victorian novel! I even read it in high school (for fun, not for class haha!)
