My 2018 Reading Challenges: 6 Month Check-in

At the beginning of the year, I committed to three 2018 reading challenges, plus one challenge I kind created myself, along with the annual Goodreads one. So five all up! Check out my original post here!

This post is to check in at the six month point to see how well I am progressing through the challenges! So far, I’m happy with my progress.

At the end of March, for my 3 month check-in, I had read 5 books for this challengeRestore Me by Tahereh Mafi, The Complete Collected Poems of Maya Angelou by Maya Angelou, My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows, Radio Silence by Alice Oseman, and The Secret History by Donna Tartt.

From April to the end of June, I’ve read a further 2 books:

Not too happy with my progress in this challenge, but at least both of my reads were five stars!

2018 Finishing the Series Reading Challenge hosted by Celebrity Readers

I’m still a C-Lister! From January to the end of March, I had completed 3 seriesincluding: These Vicious Masks trilogy by Tarun Shanker and Kelly Zekas, The Camellia Clock Cycle duology by Taylor Brooke, and The Lady Janies series by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows (because I’ve read all currently published books in this series).

From April to the end of June, I only managed to read 1 series!! 😦

HOWEVER:

I did read the second book in the Illuminae series, Gemina. So one more book left and I’ve finished the series!!

2018 Netgalley and Edelweiss Challenge hosted by Bookish Things and More

From January to the end of March, I read 19 ARCS! That’s so many!! I’m not even going to list them again, there’s that many!

In the past three months, I’ve read 7!

In the previous check-in, I’d read 19 ARCs, and this time round it’s 7. So that means I’ve moved up a level! I’m now on level 2: Silver Level (25 books)! The next level is Gold (50 books), but I don’t think I’d be reaching that by the next check-in. That’s a bit ambitious to read 25 ARCs.

However, I’m quite proud of myself here, considering that I’ve put myself on an ARC restriction: I only request ARCs I’m genuinely interested in, not just the ones I see everyone talking about.

I created this sort-of challenge because I wanted to read more #LoveOzYA and it’s not working out too well lol.

From January to the end of March, I only read 2 books. From April to the end of June, I’ve read another 3Lmao, wow I still suck, although I’ve read one more than before.

Here’s hoping I read more by the next check-in in October!

Goodreads Challenge

At the beginning of the year, I set myself a goal of reading 100 books! So far I’ve read:

Congrats on doing so well on your GR reading challenge! You’re so close to completing it. 😍

It’s actually the only one I’m participating in, and I completed it in June. ☺️

Happy July, I hope you read even better books this month! 💛
