4. Have fun!
1. Where do you typically write your blog posts?
A mix of places. Usually at my desk, sometimes on the kitchen table, other times in bed.
2. How long does it generally take you to write a book review?
Depends on the book. If it’s a book I hated, usually between 30 minutes to an hour. If it’s a book I loved, a few hours to a whole day. I usually get distracted by social media, and struggle to put into words how much I loved the book. If I hated a book, no problem, I can smash out the review in no time. But 4 star / 5 star reviews take longer.
3. When did you start your book blog?
My very first post was my review of Illuminae and was posted on June 18, 2016.
4. What is the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
Being consistent with your posting schedule! My posting schedule was every three days, but when real life gets busy, sometimes I can go up to a week without posting. It’s hard, but sometimes life is like that.
5. What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
The people! I have made so many friends on this site, and we’ve become even closer because we recognised each other on Twitter and Goodreads too! I love seeing my friends content and try my hardest to read all of their posts.
6. What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?
Definitely my Guide to Bingeable “Kids” Cartoon Shows. It took me a few days, but I got to rewatch a bunch of my favourite shows, and a few people have told me they’re going to be watching a favourite show of mine because of my recommendation! That’s awesome!
7. What is your favourite type of blog post to write?
I used to love reviews, but now they’re getting hard for me to write, so I’ll say discussion posts. But only when I have a strong idea of what to say.
8. When do you typically write?
Really depends on the day. If it’s the weekend, I try to write in the morning. During the week, it’s basically whenever I have the time.
9. Do you review every book you read?
I try to! I definitely review all the ARCs I receive, but I do have a backlist of books I need to review. However, I don’t post every review on my blog because sometimes my reviews are just a paragraph long – you’ll find more of my reviews on Goodreads.
10. How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled with your fur baby?
Almost always with a cup of tea. If I’m in the kitchen or near my desk, I have the TV on in the background for some noise/company. If I’m in my room, it’s usually silent, although I’ve started playing some soft music in the background – just a playlist on YouTube. Last time it was Lana Del Rey’s first album, Born to Die.
11. When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing the book? Two weeks after finishing the book?
Again, it depends on the novel. If it’s an ARC, usually within a few days of finishing the book. If it’s a published book I liked, sometimes not till months later, However, if it’s a book I hated, almost straight after.
12. How often do you post?
I try to post at least twice a week, but in the past few months that’s gone down to once every ten days or so. That’s just because of Christmas and me working overtime for the past three months. I hope to have a more consistent schedule when university starts again.
