WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK THIS SUMMER SPRING?

cover121483-medium

This book was beautiful. I can’t even find the words to describe how much I love this book, but I will try. There’s a unique magic system, a centuries-old curse, fairytale tropes, magical mafia… you need this book ok?!

The characters are also the cutest: Jeremy, my cinnamon roll, is an angel and the sweetest character ever. Luke is such a strong badass, who loves fiercely and wants to do the right thing. Honestly, the best book I read all spring. And I am going to reread it during my summer, so if anyone wants to do a buddy read, hit me up!

WHAT WAS YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE BOOK THIS SUMMER SPRING?

34669350Fortitude Smashed was such a disappointment for me. And what makes the book even more dismaying was that for 80% of the book, I loved it!

It was cruising on a 4.5 star rating … and then something happened and I watched in horror as everything was ruined. I no longer cared about the characters, and I just wanted the book to be over.

WHAT BOOK DID YOU WISH YOU HAD READ THIS SUMMER SPRING?

historyisallyouleftmeI have been meaning to read History is All You Left Me for ages!! Literally since the beginning of the year – I even bought it the day it came out.

What’s really annoying is that I have read both of Adam Silvera’s other books, and this is the last one and then I’ve read his entire bibliography! (Not hard, there’s only three books.)

I am determined to read this book before the end of the year, but I also know I’ll cry buckets of tears, which is why I’ve been putting it off.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE CLASSIC YOU READ THIS SUMMER SPRING? (IF YOU DIDN’T READ ONE THIS SUMMER THAN IN GENERAL)

pride-and-prejudice_bnI didn’t read a classic during Spring! Shame on me!!

But you guys already know my all time favourite. In case you forgot: Pride and Prejudice!!!!!

If you haven’t read P&P, get on that immediately please. It’s such an amazingly beautiful, satiric novel that I have read – and I’m not kidding – over 10 times. (I read it like 3 times a year, although I haven’t read it this year yet!!)

DID YOU STRAY INTO A DIFFERENT GENRE AND PICK UP A NEW AND EXCITING BOOK?

32075671I don’t usually read YA contemporaries. The only time I do is when I’ve read too many fantasises and then I have a fantasy overload and I need to read something different for a change of pace.

Usually, I’ll read one contemporary, but last year I went through a stage – over like a month – where all I read was contemporaries. So strange. Anyway, THUG was my favourite contemporary read this Spring!! Such an insightful novel that everyone should read.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE ADAPTATION THIS SUMMER SPRING?

Screen Shot 2017-09-28 at 9.48.36 pmWell, I watched IT twice during Spring, and I’m currently reading the book now so I don’t know if it was an accurate adaptation, but the movie was amazing!

Those kids are amazing actors and have an incredible career ahead of them. Also, the movie wasn’t that scary – it was mainly jump scares.

That was good so I could then appreciate the way the movie was made.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE NEW RELEASE BOOK?

30122938Among the Red Stars was amazing!!! Omg, if you’re looking for a book with amazing, competent female characters, look no further!

The book is set during WWII and is about female bomber fighter pilots, based on the real life Night Witches.

I can’t rave about this book enough, it has everything: amazing characters, a beautiful friends-to-lovers story, heartwarming tales of friendship and bravery. Just – read it!!

…totally forgot that we are in different hemispheres and it is so not the end of the summer for you. XD Omigosh, how funny, Laura! But I loved it! YES YES YES to The Uncrossing. Jeremy is so much love! ❤ And oh gosh to Fortitude Smashed! I don't think I've seen a book spiral that fast from a 4.5 to worst. D: And how did you feel about It dancing? 😉 Wonderful tag, Laura, and I loved, loved reading your answers! It was so much fun, and wonderful post! ❤

Hahaha it’s ok! Summer doesn’t start until December for me lol, but I still had fun doing this tag 😀 Omg, I love the Uncrossing so much! It’s such an amazing book. Yeah Fortitude Smashed was a weird one – I’ve never had that happen to me either.
Lol IT dancing was hilarious – the movie wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be, and there were many funny moments!
Thanks Mandy! And thanks again for tagging me ❤️
