The Pride and Prejudice Book Tag 2.0

Pride and Prejudice

This is the Pride and Prejudice Book Tag 2.0a sequel to Emma @ A Dreamer’s Library’s original Pride and Prejudice Book Tag.

A million thanks to Emma for allowing me to collaborate with her on a book tag! I can’t even begin to explain how excited I was to work on this; I had the time of my life – and what’s even better, it’s about Pride and Prejudice! Everyone please go check out Emma’s amazing blog here. She writes wonderful, unique posts and is a lovely person to talk to.

Longbourn

While Mr. Bennet silently reads in the study, and Mrs. Bennet’s tales of woe can be heard from miles away, you spend a lovely afternoon in the garden with your dramatic and doting sisters. What is a favourite novel of yours that features a strong sibling relationship?

The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare features great sibling relationships: Alec, Isabelle and Jace. I also love that it’s not a traditional family and that they have a tendency to adopt people and make their own type of family.

Meryton

You and Mary have decided to walk to the bookshop in Meryton to search for the newest releases. Which book or books are you likely to purchase?

thegentlemans

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee, for sure! Of course we’ll have to fast forward a whole month before I can get my hands on it. Grrr, why isn’t this book out yet!?

Netherfield Park

Netherfield Park has been let at last, and the owner, a Mr. Charles Bingley, hosts a magnificent ball at his new estate. What fictional ball gown would you wear?

anastasia

The blue dress from Anastasia! I remember watching that movie as a child and falling in love with that dress. If I had the chance to go to a ball (with Bingley), I would definitely be wearing this. pandpline

Lucas Lodge

It is the Christmas Ball and Maria has asked you to join her at the piano. What music or song would you choose as an accompaniment to your current book?

I’m currently reading Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare, and the song I would choose to accompany that book would be “No Light, No Light” by Florence + the Machine. The song always reminds me of Emma and Julian. ❤

(Kind of a modern party)

Gracechurch Street

You’re helping Jane to take care of her younger cousins whilst staying with the Gardiners. Which fictional children would you include in your own family?

The Blackthorn kids from The Dark Artifices! Those kids are touchingly loyal, sweet and fierce – there’s Tavvy, Livvy, Ty, Dru, and the older kids Julian, Helen and Mark. I feel like a Mumma Bear everytime I read about them because I just want to protect them all.

Hunsford Parsonage

It’s a sombre evening at Hunsford Parsonage, and after dinner, Mr. Collins stands by the fireplace and quotes from the Good Book, while the party tries not to yawn too obviously. What is a memorable quote from a novel that has always stuck with you?

‘I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.’

— Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

(Like, did you expect anything else?)

Rosings Park

You’ve been invited to dine at Rosings Park by none other than the infamous Lady Catherine de Bourgh, but the evening ends in disaster as the pompous Lady insults you and your family. Who’s your favourite fictional villain?

Jonathan Morgenstern! One of the most complex YA villains I have ever read (I’m sensing a lot of Shadowhunter answers, but I can’t stop myself!)

Brighton

As Lydia has gone down to Brighton with the Forsters, and Elizabeth is off on her jaunt to Derbyshire with the Gardiners, you also want to go away for a quick break. Which fictional location would be your perfect holiday destination?

Definitely Ravka! I absolutely adore the Grisha world that Leigh Bardugo has created. I’d also love to hang out with Nikolai Lantsov.

Lambton

You’re running to the fine horse chestnut tree on the green to relive some of your favourite childhood reading memories. What is one that you remember most fondly?

Reading the Uncollected! series by Paul Jennings. I used to lock myself in my closet (because I was scared and apparently small spaces made me feel better?) and read the series. To this day, I’m still frightened of those books and won’t go back to them. Don’t know how I managed to read them all as a child.

Pemberley

You’re on a tour at Pemberley and you come across Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy emerging from the pond, scandalously clad in only his wet underdrawers and shirt. You can’t help but swoon at the sight. Aside from Mr. Darcy, who is your favourite romantic interest?

Laurent from the Captive Prince series! He’s a massive b**** at the start of the series, but as the books develop, the reader, along with the protagonist, realises he’s the sweetest person and fall in love with him.

Totally agree with your Shadowhunter answers. I also happen to be reading Lord of Shadows right now and I want to protect every Blackthorn sibling.

Omigosh, this was adorable, girls! I love how you set everything up. It’s so cute with the beginning of each prompt, and I loved your updates on it. And I’m sooooooooo going to have to borrow that gown after you. It was always so pretty, and Anastasia was my favorite movie as a kid (don’t tell the Disney princesses on me D:). And Ravka would be such an interesting place to visit! Wonderful job, ladies, and I can’t wait to do this one. Thanks so much for thinking of me!!

Thank you Mandy!! I’m so glad you like it 😀 Hahaha I’ll keep your secret, so long as you don’t tell Belle that her dress is second on my list lol.

I love this tag! I’ve never actually read Pride and Prejudice (DON’T JUDGE ME PLEASE) but I enjoyed the movies quite a bit. I really like how you didn’t just ask questions but included a description to set the mood too 🙂
Florence is love! ❤ And Anastasia's gown… I totally loved it as a child ❤ It was so sparkly!
Ravka would be an awesome place to visit, even if a bit of a dangerous one hahaha

Thank you Sophie!! Omg omg you haven’t read the book? It’s ok, I’m ok, so long as you’ve watched the movie lol 😉

Great tag Laura! Love your answers! The Grisha world is definitely an interesting read. The saddest thing is, I have not read Pride and Prejudice yet. I recall vaguely that I may have seen the old movie, or at least a portion of it. Nevertheless, I will have to plan on reading this book so that I can fully embrace the questions haha..
