This week’s topic is … Favourite Publishers!
1. Image Comics
Image Comics is my absolute favourite proprietor of comics and graphic novels. Whenever I’m in a comic store, I immediately make my way over to the Image section, even before checking out the Marvel section. If you haven’t checked out the incredible Saga series by Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples, get on it immediately.
2. Bloomsbury Publishing
Bloomsbury Publishing is one of my favourite publishers, mainly due to their history with the Harry Potter series. The company is also responsible for Sarah J. Maas’ novels and The Song of Achilles, which is a moving, poignant novel that everyone should read.
3. Penguin Random House and subsidiaries
I have loved Penguin for years and have always said it would be my number one dream to work there one day. I also own a significant amount of the classics, which are, in my opinion, the best books in the world. It’s such a great concept and I can’t wait for Penguin to release more.
4. Scholastic Press
Scholastic Press has been around since I was in primary school, and probably before that too. It’s a fantastic group that has published so many of my favourite novels, including all the works by Maggie Stiefvater. I can’t wait to see what’s next to come from this company!
5. Simon and Schuster and subsidiaries
Simon and Schuster is another great publishing company, mostly due to it’s publication of The Shadowhunter Chronicles, which is still one of my favourite series. At the moment, they are publishing some quality YA books, too.
This was such a difficult topic but it definitely opened my eyes to the intricate and complex world of the publishing industry. There are so many subsidiaries, it’s difficult to keep track of. It took me a good two hours to compile this short list.

Great post! I’ve only recently started paying attention to publishers but it sure helps to know them when picking out books 🙂

Thank you! And yes I agree! With Image Comics, I don’t even read the blurbs anymore. I know its going to be an awesome graphic novel because of the publisher 😀
